Martyr of Forgiveness
Ultimately, the greatest example we have of strictly human forgiveness is the Blessed Mother, who also stands as the most perfect icon of the Church. Her spiritual motherhood was forged at the height of her suffering, when her tortured son looked down and asked her to embrace the same sinful humanity that put him there.
