| | Feast of St. Francis | October 4, 2015 | Dear Friends, The visit of Pope Francis to the USA is still the media buzz. Pope Francis touched the hearts of believers and non-believers with his humble simplicity. His words and his actions spoke the Gospel message of love. I am reminded of the pope's namesake, St. Francis of Assisi, whose feast we celebrate on October 4. St. Francis taught his followers to preach the Gospel at all times and, if it seems proper, to use words. Actions always speak louder than words. That is why Pope Francis was so effective during his pastoral visit to the United States. He cut through all political and cultural differences by exhibiting a human witness that we are all children of God, regardless of race, age, nationality, gender, culture or religion. Here at Franciscan Media we strive to proclaim the Gospel through what we publish in every way available to us—in print, on the web and in many digital formats. Much of what we do is given freely to those who request it, so we rely on our generous donors to help pay the costs. On the occasion of the Feast of St. Francis, please consider being a partner with us in our Franciscan ministry of spreading the Gospel to the world. Franciscan Media exists to help spread the Word of God in the Spirit of St. Francis, St. Anthony and St. Clare. I invite you to become a partner in pursuing our mission because we need your prayers and your support to continue our mission. Please consider donating $50, $75, $100 or more to help us evangelize. Your tax-deductible gift in any amount helps us pay the costs of our web ministry that touches many thousands with the Gospel message every day. Use our secure online donation form or mail a donation payable to the Franciscans, at Franciscan Media, 28 W. Liberty St., Cincinnati, OH 45202. If you prefer, you may phone in a credit-card donation for our evangelization ministries to our customer service representative at 1-800-488-0488 ext 158. Thank you for supporting our ministry. May God give you peace! Peace and every blessing, Fr. Dan Kroger, O.F.M. Publisher, Franciscan Media | | | | | |
