Catholic Online Readers,

On April 2, 2014, Fort Hood experienced the second shooting in five years when SPC Ivan Lopez killed three and wounded sixteen before fatally turning the gun on himself.

On April 8, 2014, the Catholic pastoral coordinator at Fort Hood submitted a request for the maximum allowable through Mission Capodanno’s Free to Chaplains Program to assist affected families and restore hope to the community.
