Hi, Friend,
This month, St. Anthony Messenger takes an in-depth look at the celebration of St. Francis' Feast of Pardon and its significance to our Franciscan history. It's fitting that the 800th anniversary of this event falls during the Year of Mercy. Celebrating God's grace, mercy, and peace is an important part of Franciscan spirituality.
In our cover story about Dorothy Day, you will read about this indomitable, faith-filled woman, who refused to stand on the sidelines watching social injustices. She served the poor and lived among them—and stirred up controversy while doing it! Check out this exclusive preview: Dorothy Day: Model of Mercy.

Ask a Franciscan: One subscriber writes to Friar Pat McCloskey: "My wife and I remodeled two rooms in our house in order to rent them out. When I filed my income tax, I was going to report this income, but my wife was against it. She feels that we are already paying a lot of taxes to the government from our jobs. Also, we are giving 10 percent of the rent money we receive to the poor. Was not reporting this a sin?"

We hope you enjoy these features from St. Anthony Messenger.
Peace and all good!
